Thanks for the input Ryan! It could also be pointed out that a lot of apps are becoming valid placeholders for our household televisions. From news apps offering video segments to major sports (MLB, NHL, NBA) offering apps with streaming live content... I've actually recently made the transition away from getting cable at home at all and have experienced very little downside.

(I should also point out that, while the author of this blog is employed by The Lab, the views and opinions expressed on this blog in no way reflect those of The Lab or its employees)

I usually don't comment on blogs but I found you on linkedin. I was doing some research on The Lab. I really like your blog on travel essentials. I will add as my own essential is my "slingbox" application. So late at night, I can keep up with my shows, local news and hometown sports teams.

I like this game. What do you love about it?

Without any idea though, it's strange for me to say.

I'd be interested to see the effects that a failure of a section of these heating elements has on a road in cold temperatures. I'd imagine a quick temperature change could cause some buckling of tearing of pavement.

heightened potential of tripping/stumbling aside, this seems to me like one of those small but ingenious things people would look back at years down the line and think "ha. idiots in 2010 had unmoveable wallsockets."
